Guatemala is adopting Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology to revolutionize its approach to major infrastructure projects and urban planning. This integration of construction models, digital maps, sensors, and real-time data aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of urban dynamics. AeroMetro and MetroRiel are leading the charge, pioneering this new methodology for large-scale developments. The initiative seeks to move away from traditional planning methods towards a data-driven approach, enhancing efficiency and informed decision-making. By utilizing BIM, officials hope to gain a clearer picture of ongoing events within the city, and proactively address challenges.
