Greek students participated in a project to locate relatives of prisoners held by the Nazis during World War II. The initiative involved tracking down families and returning personal belongings confiscated from their ancestors. Through this work, the students aimed to humanize those reduced to statistics during the war, giving a voice to those "turned into numbers." The project served as a powerful exercise in historical research and empathy. It also provided closure and a connection to the past for the families involved. By reconnecting families with lost items, the students helped “heal a wound” left by the conflict. The work highlighted the importance of remembering individual stories within the larger context of WWII.
