Greece’s Ministry of Environment and Energy is facing a significant financial penalty following an audit of the "Antinero II" project. The audit, conducted by the EDEΛ authority, revealed evidence of artificial fragmentation of contracts during the 2022-2023 period. As a result, a flat-rate financial correction of €29.942.529,06 has been imposed. The Ministry stated the project's evaluation will be based on evidence and outcomes. This decision stems from findings related to improper structuring of agreements within the Antinero II program. The penalty highlights concerns regarding contract management and transparency within the Ministry’s projects. Further investigation into the specifics of the contract splitting is anticipated.
