Greece announced a new €150 million development scheme for the defense industry on July 15th, following the inauguration of a new industrial facility operated by Metlen in Volos. Minister Theodorikakos highlighted the investment as strengthening both the productive capacity and defense capabilities of the nation. The new funding aims to bolster the Greek defense sector through strategic investments and technological advancements. Following the Metlen facility opening, Theodorikakos and Dendias visited the facilities of EBETAM Volos, a research and technology company. This initiative signals a commitment to modernizing and expanding Greece’s domestic defense production. The investment is expected to create jobs and stimulate economic growth in the Volos region, alongside enhancing national security. The government views Metlen’s presence as a key component of this strategic development.
