Greek fishermen have confronted Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras at the port of Thessaloniki, expressing concerns over increasing energy costs and alleged inaction regarding Turkish fishing vessels operating in Greek waters. The fishermen claim that dozens of Turkish fishing boats are actively fishing within Greece’s maritime boundaries. They criticized the Prime Minister's previous statements suggesting that the sea has no borders, holding him accountable for the situation. The protestors, who have been stationed at the Thessaloniki port for two days, are also demonstrating against perceived government propaganda. The meeting involved the president of ELAS (Hellenic Police) and representatives from the "gri-gri" sector – a specific type of fishing. Fishermen are demanding a solution to protect their livelihoods and enforce maritime sovereignty.
