Greece has unveiled a national action plan allocating €369 million to bolster palliative care services from 2025-2030. The initiative aims to improve care for an estimated 135,000 patients across the country. Key components of the plan include the establishment of hospice facilities, day care centers, and specialized medical clinics. Furthermore, the plan will add 500 hospital beds dedicated to palliative care. A significant element is the creation of 300 home care teams to provide support directly to patients in their residences. This comprehensive strategy represents a substantial investment in end-of-life care and accessibility for those with serious illnesses.
