The operator of the Greece-Cyprus electricity interconnector is preparing to submit a formal loan request. The funding, totaling 1 billion euros, will be sought from the European Investment Bank (EIB). This application is expected to be filed by the end of the current month. The project aims to establish a critical energy link between the two nations. This infrastructure is a key part of regional energy security and integration. The loan will facilitate the technical implementation of the undersea cable. This move strengthens the strategic energy partnership within the Eastern Mediterranean.
