A permanent space dedicated to Amazigh (Berber) culture has officially opened within the Alhambra palace in Granada, Spain. The initiative, launched by the Dr. Leila Mezian Foundation, aims to foster dialogue and the transmission of heritage across the Mediterranean. This marks the first facility of its kind in Europe, providing a platform for showcasing Amazigh traditions and history. The opening ceremony was attended by King Mohammed VI’s advisor, André Azoulay, and the Moroccan Ambassador to Spain, Karima Benyaich. The space intends to promote understanding and exchange between cultures, emphasizing shared history and memory. The project signifies a commitment to preserving and celebrating Amazigh identity within a prominent historical landmark. It is expected to become a significant cultural hub for the Amazigh diaspora and those interested in North African heritage.
