Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has announced an increase in gold prices following two consecutive price decreases in the domestic market. The price hike is attributed to rising prices of pure or refined gold in the international market. Effective Monday, June 22nd, the price of 22-karat gold has been raised by 4,432 taka per bhar (a traditional unit of weight), setting the new price at 230,772 taka per bhar. BAJUS communicated this decision via a press release this morning. The organization cited global market fluctuations as the primary driver for the adjustment. This marks a reversal of the recent downward trend experienced in local gold prices. Further details were provided in the official announcement.
