The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced a second consecutive decrease in gold prices within the country. The price reduction of 2,216 taka per ‘bhori’ (a traditional unit of weight) is attributed to a decline in the price of pure or ‘tejabi’ gold in the local market. Consequently, the new price for one ‘bhori’ of 22-carat gold has been set at 226,340 taka. BAJUS announced the decision via a press release on Saturday morning, June 20th. This follows an earlier price adjustment, indicating a trend of softening gold values. The new pricing is effective immediately, impacting the cost of gold jewellery across Bangladesh. Further details regarding the factors influencing the price drop were included in the official announcement.
