Ghana’s Communications Minister, Sam George, has stated that AT Ghana, operating under PPL Net Ghana Limited, must submit outstanding audited accounts before receiving additional spectrum. The National Communications Authority (NCA) is legally barred from allocating spectrum to companies lacking these crucial financial documents. This requirement ensures transparency and accountability in spectrum management, preventing future legal challenges. Cabinet has already approved making spectrum available to PPL Net, but the allocation remains conditional on meeting regulatory stipulations. Minister George emphasized that submitting audited accounts is a fundamental requirement, not a negotiable point. The company’s new Board of Directors was sworn in with this condition clearly outlined. This decision underscores the government’s commitment to upholding regulatory standards within the telecommunications sector.
