Members of Ghana’s Parliament, specifically from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), plan to verify the imprisonment status of Sedina Tamakloe next week. Tamakloe previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC). The move comes following questions regarding her current whereabouts and confirmation of a prison sentence. Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, MP for Manhyia South and Vice Chairperson of the Subsidiary Legislation Committee, announced the verification effort. The parliamentary committee responsible is the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee. This action aims to officially confirm whether Tamakloe is currently serving a custodial sentence. The NPP members will undertake the verification process during the next parliamentary session.
