A new book by Emeritus Professor Kwasi Kwafo Adarkwa assesses the condition of Ghana’s road network across all 16 regions. “Navigating the Towns and Roads in Ghana” provides a detailed, district-by-district analysis of road infrastructure, focusing on maintenance needs and connectivity. The book aims to offer a practical resource for policymakers, planners, and local authorities grappling with the country’s road maintenance challenges. Professor Adarkwa, a former Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, highlights varying levels of road quality and identifies specific areas requiring urgent attention. The assessment also considers the relationship between road conditions and urban development throughout Ghana. The work intends to facilitate targeted improvements and more effective resource allocation for road maintenance projects nationwide.
