The Kuwaiti Diagnostics Center in Gaza has ceased operations, with its equipment – including the only functional CT scanner in the central governorate – becoming unusable after the World Health Organization halted fuel supplies since September 19th. According to the center’s director, Abd al-Rahman Ahmed al-Naqla, the lack of diagnostic services is leaving patients without adequate alternatives, leading to fatalities due to inaccurate diagnoses. Hospitals in the central governorate are being forced to alter procedures as a result. Simultaneously, the deteriorating condition of tents housing displaced persons in Gaza raises concerns about a potentially “catastrophic winter” for those affected. The situation highlights a critical breakdown in healthcare access and worsening conditions for vulnerable populations within the Gaza Strip. The outage directly impacts patient care and exacerbates existing challenges faced by the region's healthcare system.
