A French father and his two young sons were stranded at sea for over 16 hours off the coast of Thailand after their rented jetski partially sank. The family was vacationing in Koh Samui when the incident occurred; the father failed to return the jetski within the allotted time, prompting a search. Initial search efforts were suspended as darkness fell, forcing the family to spend the night adrift. They were found the next morning, described as pale and exhausted after ingesting seawater, and briefly hospitalized for a check-up. The father stated the jetski stalled due to high waves, and footage shows the device nearly submerged with the children in life vests. They were reunited with their mother and older sister upon their return to shore, and remarkably, the family has continued their vacation in Thailand.
