A fraud ring in Ramgarh, Khagrachari, Bangladesh, cloned the official phone number of Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Kazi Shamim and used it to demand bribes. Posing as an Upazila Executive Magistrate, the fraudsters contacted the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ramgarh Police Station and local BNP leaders, requesting money. The scam came to light when the UNO became aware of the cloned number. Authorities are now warning individuals to be cautious and avoid falling victim to this deception. The incident highlights a growing concern regarding digital fraud targeting government officials. The UNO has urged everyone to be vigilant against such attempts and report any suspicious calls.
