Franco-Persian poet Ardavan Tabatabaï has released a new poetry collection with L'Harmattan, drawing from the pain of exile and his family’s spiritual heritage. Tabatabaï first garnered recognition after winning a poetry contest centered on the theme of exile. His work is deeply rooted in the tradition of Iranian poetry, referencing masters like Rumi, Saadi, Hafez, and Omar Khayyam. The poems explore universal themes of love and homeland, but also directly address the oppression occurring under the current regime in Tehran. The book is dedicated to the "lions and lionesses of Iran” fighting for freedom and secularism. Tabatabaï’s verse serves as both a personal expression of displacement and a powerful statement of solidarity with those seeking change in Iran.
