Dutch police have arrested a 20-year-old man suspected of planning a terrorist attack on a synagogue in Heemstede in March. He is accused of intending to cause an explosion or arson. This is the fourth arrest related to the case, following the detentions of two minors aged 14 and 17, and an 18-year-old man. The arrests occurred amid heightened security at Jewish institutions following earlier explosions in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. A group claiming responsibility, Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiyyah, has emerged. Separately, four suspects in a Rotterdam synagogue attack have confessed, though their lawyers claim they were unaware they were targeting a Jewish site, a claim disputed by prosecutors who believe it was a deliberate act of terrorism potentially orchestrated by an Iraqi man based in the US.
