Le Havre AC has appointed Demba Ba, a former Senegalese international and experienced football executive, as their new Sporting Director. Ba joins Le Havre after three years as délégué président (deputy president) at Dunkerque, where he oversaw a successful 2024-2025 season resulting in a Ligue 2 playoff berth and a Coupe de France semi-final appearance, notably leading 2-0 against Paris Saint-Germain before a 4-2 defeat. During his tenure, Dunkerque achieved a fourth-place finish in Ligue 2 and reached the Coupe de France semi-finals. As a player, Ba enjoyed a distinguished career with clubs including Hoffenheim, West Ham, Newcastle, and Chelsea. He will be responsible for continuing the sporting development of the Normandy-based club following the departure of Mathieu Bodmer. Dunkerque finished 10th in the league this past season.
