Former Senegal international and recent Olympique de Marseille coach, Habib Bèye, will not be returning to his role as a pundit for Canal+, according to the channel's director of sports, Thomas Sénécal. Despite being without a club following his departure from Marseille, Bèye hasn’t been contacted by Canal+ to resume commentary work. Sénécal explained that the decision stems from Bèye’s focus on pursuing a career as a coach, despite recent challenges with Rennes and Marseille. The channel intends to maintain a separation between its broadcasting and association with active coaches who experience career fluctuations. Bèye’s recent season was turbulent, marked by dismissal from Rennes and Marseille, and being overlooked for the Senegal national team manager position. For now, a return to broadcasting with Canal+ appears unlikely as Bèye continues to seek further opportunities in coaching.
