At least 13 former advisors to the Boric government in Chile have transitioned from public service to major public affairs firms: Extend, Tironi, Feedback, and EK (formerly Grupo Etcheberry). These individuals are leveraging their recent government connections and inside information within the political divisions of these consulting firms, often securing positions quickly after leaving their government roles. Several are now actively lobbying on behalf of large corporations. Extend, led by the Velasco sisters, has been most successful in attracting these former advisors. Imaginacción, Enrique Correa’s consultancy, appears to have lost ground in recruiting talent from the Boric administration’s younger staff. The movement raises questions about the revolving door between government and the lobbying industry in Chile.
