Norway’s Labour Inspection Authority has launched investigations into food delivery companies Foodora and Wolt following reports of potential worker exploitation. The investigations stem from a May inspection by the Western Norway Regional Centre for Crime Investigation, which focused on delivery riders in Bergen. The audit revealed indications of social dumping, including instances of undeclared work, failures to register for VAT, and inaccurate reporting of revenue. Authorities are concerned about potential exploitation of workers within the two companies. Both Wolt and Foodora have publicly stated they are taking the findings seriously. The Labour Inspection Authority will now further examine the working conditions and practices of both firms.
