A 26-year-old Fijian rugby player has died in Japan from heatstroke after collapsing during a training session. Simon Vunilagi, who recently joined Kyushu Electric Power Kyuden Voltex, a second-division team, showed severe symptoms of heatstroke after training on Monday. Despite receiving medical treatment, he passed away on Friday, as confirmed by the club. The incident occurred in Fukuoka, where temperatures reached 35 degrees Celsius on Monday. Vunilagi had previously played for Tokyo Sungoliath before moving to Kyushu last month, and was a scrum-half. The club expressed their sorrow, noting his promising potential and extending condolences to his family.
