FIFA has responded to claims made by the president of the Moroccan football federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, regarding the venue of the 2030 World Cup final. Lekjaa had stated the final match would be held in Morocco. However, FIFA clarified on Friday that a decision concerning the final venue is still pending and will be announced at a later date. The governing body did not confirm or deny Morocco’s claim. This announcement follows Lekjaa’s public statement, which appeared to preempt FIFA’s official communication. The 2030 World Cup will be jointly hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. FIFA intends to make a formal announcement "in due course" regarding where the culminating match will take place.
