The truck was discovered attempting to unload the fertilizer at an alleged illegal warehouse in Chiduachine. Authorities suspect the fertilizer originated from Chibuto’s flood relief stores, with a possibility of some being illegally purchased from local farmers in Macavelane. The thefts are occurring while thousands of farmers struggle to recover from flood-related losses and rely on distributed agricultural supplies. Police are investigating the origin of the cargo and identifying those responsible, with an official statement expected Monday.
