Fawzi Warsame, aged 28, has been elected as the new leader of AUF (Workers' Youth League) in Norway, succeeding Gaute Børstad Skjervø who has held the position since 2024. Warsame previously served as the international leader within AUF’s central board. Currently, he is a member of the Oslo city council and a substitute representative to the Storting (Norwegian Parliament) for the Oslo Labour Party. Professionally, the newly appointed leader is a trained lawyer working as a legal trainee. His parents originally fled Somalia as refugees, bringing their experiences to their son’s leadership role within the prominent youth political organization based in Oslo. This transition marks a new chapter for AUF as Warsame brings his background and experience to the forefront of the organization's work.
