More than twelve hours after a severe bus accident in Switzerland, the number of victims remains unclear. Swiss police reported multiple fatalities and injuries, but have not released specific figures, prioritizing notification of next of kin. The accident occurred yesterday afternoon between the villages of Zernez and Susch, in eastern Switzerland. The bus, carrying 49 people – 48 passengers and one driver – was traveling from the Netherlands and is believed to have been carrying mostly Dutch nationals organized by the Dutch travel company Oad. The bus is owned by Hartemink, a tour company from Eibergen, in the Achterhoek region of the Netherlands. Preliminary investigations suggest a single-vehicle accident occurred in a zone with road works, where lanes were narrowed, causing the bus to break through a guardrail and overturn. A large-scale emergency response, including helicopters, was deployed to the scene.
