A gas expert asserts that Europe is unlikely to experience a gas crisis mirroring the severity of 2022 this winter. Marko Allikson, a board member of Baltic Energy Partners, noted that while gas storage levels are currently at their lowest since 2012, focusing solely on storage is misleading. He explained that substantial gas supplies also reach Europe via Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminals. Allikson reassured that these alternative supply routes contribute significantly to overall energy security. Therefore, despite lower storage volumes, Europe is better positioned to manage winter demand. The expert's comments aim to alleviate concerns about potential energy shortages during the colder months.
