The influx has underscored deep political and ideological divisions among the 27 EU nations regarding migration policies. Despite these differences, the Spanish minister characterized the meeting’s atmosphere as “constructive.” The situation in Ceuta has tested Europe’s resilience, according to Commissioner Magnus Brunner. The ministers discussed the consequences of this large-scale migration event and potential collaborative responses. The meeting aimed to foster a unified approach, but significant disagreements on migration remain apparent. Further discussions and coordinated action are expected.
