A new European Union initiative aimed at supporting a fair energy transition in the Western Balkans was launched in Sarajevo today. The project focuses on assisting regions, industries, and workers in adapting to a greener economy. Representatives from the EU, France, Bosnia and Herzegovina, regional organizations, municipalities, and civil society groups attended the launch event. The initiative is funded by the EU and will be implemented in partnership with various stakeholders across the region. It aims to facilitate a just transition, minimizing negative impacts and maximizing opportunities associated with the shift away from fossil fuels.
