European Union foreign ministers have approved a new round of sanctions against Russia, impacting almost 1,600 entities and individuals. The sanctions, announced on Monday by EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, directly target Russia’s military-industrial complex. The measures aim to further restrict Russia’s ability to fund and wage its ongoing conflict. This latest package builds upon existing sanctions imposed following the invasion of Ukraine. Officials state these actions demonstrate the EU’s continued commitment to supporting Ukraine and increasing pressure on the Kremlin. The goal is to cripple Russia's war efforts by limiting access to key technologies and financial resources. Kallas emphasized the importance of maintaining a united front against Russian aggression.
