The European Commission (EC) has temporarily suspended payments of certain subsidies to companies within the Agrofert holding from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) for the second quarter of this year. The decision stems from ongoing investigations into a potential conflict of interest involving Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO), who placed his Agrofert shares into the RSVP Trust in February. Eva Češpiva, spokesperson for the State Agricultural Intervention Fund (SZIF), reported on the EC’s decision. The suspension will remain in effect while the Commission continues its review of Babiš’s financial arrangements and potential influence.
