European Union member states have reached a compromise on revised regulations concerning air passenger rights. The agreement maintains existing compensation amounts for flight delays, ranging from 250 to 600 euros based on flight distance. A key element of the deal preserves the three-hour delay threshold for eligibility of compensation. The new rules aim to simplify the complaints process for passengers and prohibit charges for minor errors when booking tickets. Airlines will also be required to provide clearer information regarding baggage fees. The agreement is scheduled for a vote in the European Parliament on Monday and, if approved, will represent a significant update to passenger protections.
