Investment firm Infortar has launched Estonia’s largest biogas plant in Pärnu County, situated adjacent to the Halinga dairy farm. The facility will generate renewable gas utilizing bio-waste and manure from the farm’s cattle. This represents a significant step in Estonia’s renewable energy sector, offering a sustainable solution for waste management. The plant aims to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lower carbon emissions. By converting agricultural byproducts into usable energy, the project promotes a circular economy model. Infortar anticipates the plant will contribute to Estonia’s national renewable energy targets and support local agricultural sustainability. The facility’s opening marks a key development in the country’s efforts to diversify its energy sources.
