Estonian energy storage company Skeleton Technologies is expanding its involvement in the European defence sector through new partnerships with major arms manufacturers in Spain, Portugal, and France. The company will integrate its high-power energy storage systems – based on supercapacitors – into counter-drone technologies, interceptors, and autonomous military platforms. These collaborations, announced at the Eurosatory 2026 exhibition, include agreements with GDELS Santa Barbara Sistemas (Spain), Tekever (Portugal), and KNDS France. Skeleton Technologies, founded in 2009, specializes in advanced energy storage solutions. The partnerships aim to enhance the capabilities of land-based defence systems across Europe. This move signifies a growing trend of integrating innovative energy technologies into military applications, particularly in response to evolving battlefield threats. The collaborations will focus on powering next-generation defence technologies, including armoured vehicles and unmanned systems.
