The Estonian Artists’ Association is holding an emergency auction to mitigate financial losses incurred from a recent fraud. A dedicated commission of art experts curated the auction’s offerings, alongside 124 works generously donated by artists themselves. This initiative aims to partially cover the damages caused by the fraudulent scheme impacting the art community. The auction represents a strong show of solidarity within Estonia’s art scene. By contributing their work, artists are directly aiding in the recovery process and demonstrating resilience. The event highlights the vulnerability of arts organizations to financial crime and the power of collective support. It is hoped the auction will raise significant funds and restore stability to the EKL.
