Estonian painter Anu Muiste’s solo exhibition, “Form and Play,” is currently on display at the Viinistu Art Museum. The show features 25 paintings housed within the museum’s unique setting of repurposed fish silos. Muiste employs surreal and dreamlike imagery throughout her work, beginning with abstract forms that evolve into figurative representations. The paintings delve into complex themes of motherhood and personal identity. Importantly, the exhibition also provides poignant social commentary, confronting viewers with the feeling of being observed. “Form and Play” presents a striking collection that avoids easy answers and invites contemplation on universal experiences.
