Estonia is actively constructing a defensive line along its southeastern border, specifically in the Setomaa region. The project currently includes the completion of twenty-eight bunkers designed to bolster defensive capabilities. Alongside the bunkers, over ten kilometers of anti-tank ditches have been excavated, creating substantial obstacles for potential aggressors. This “Baltic Defense Line” aims to deter and impede any potential incursions. Construction is ongoing, reflecting Estonia’s commitment to strengthening its national security in response to regional geopolitical concerns. The fortifications are intended to work in conjunction with other defensive measures and military strategies. The project signifies a proactive approach to border security and regional stability.
