Nigerian troops, in a joint operation with the Department of State Services, have apprehended a suspected commander linked to a kidnapping ring in Enugu State. The arrest occurred following a raid on a forest hideout utilized by the syndicate. During the operation, authorities recovered four AK-47 rifles, along with seven magazines and 133 rounds of ammunition. An undisclosed amount of cash was also seized. The operation, conducted under "Operation UDO KA," aims to curb insecurity in the South East region. The suspect is currently being interrogated to reveal further details about the kidnapping network and its operations. Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s identity, but investigations are ongoing.
