Italian energy company Eni has distributed 200,000 cookstoves to communities in Mozambique, reaching a total of one million beneficiaries. The initiative aims to provide access to cleaner and safer cooking methods in the Rovuma basin region, where Eni explores natural gas. The distribution of cookstoves is part of Eni’s social responsibility program linked to its gas exploration activities. This program addresses health and environmental concerns associated with traditional cooking fuels. The project contributes to reducing deforestation and indoor air pollution, common issues in the region. Eni continues to expand the program, focusing on improving living conditions for local populations alongside its energy operations. The company operates in the Rovuma basin, a key area for Mozambique’s natural gas reserves.
