A 17th-century Dutch trading vessel, the *Dom van Keulen*, has been positively identified following the discovery of over 400 gold coins at its wreck site off the coast of Devon, England. Divers located the shipwreck in Salcombe Bay, and the coins provided crucial evidence for its identification. The *Dom van Keulen* sank in 1633 during a voyage from Morocco to Amsterdam. Researchers confirmed the ship’s identity through the coins and other artifacts recovered from the seabed. The vessel was carrying a substantial amount of gold when it went down. This discovery offers new insights into 17th-century trade routes and maritime history.
