A fundraising campaign launched following a fatal traffic collision in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, Netherlands, has rapidly exceeded expectations, collecting over €123,988 in just over 24 hours. The accident, which occurred on Thursday, claimed the lives of three children and one adult, all connected to the De Warande elementary school. The funds are intended to support the families of the victims and the school community impacted by the tragedy, specifically covering funeral costs and providing financial assistance during a difficult time. The initiative was started by a parent of a student at De Warande, Ray Goossen, who expressed a desire to help in the wake of the devastating event. The accident involved a car veering onto a bike path where a group of 14 schoolchildren were cycling, and the school director was among those killed. A 19-year-old driver has been arrested in connection with the incident, while investigations into the cause continue. Dutch Prime Minister Jetten addressed the nation, expressing his condolences and acknowledging the tragedy.
