Students from the Durban University of Technology (DTI) showcased a range of innovative projects at their 2026 Capstone Projects Exhibition. The displays focused on addressing contemporary challenges through creative solutions. Several projects explored future urban development, presenting models of innovative cities and affordable housing options. A core theme throughout the exhibition was sustainability, with students demonstrating a commitment to environmentally conscious design. This included utilising recycled materials in both fashion and practical household items. The projects also highlighted a human-centred design approach, prioritizing user needs and experiences. The exhibition demonstrated the students’ skills and potential to contribute to a more sustainable and innovative future.
