A 49-year-old man from Biddinghuizen has turned himself in to police in connection with a fatal traffic accident that occurred the previous evening. A 32-year-old cyclist was killed when struck by a vehicle that subsequently fled the scene. The man who presented himself at the police station is believed to be the driver of a van sought in connection with the incident and has been detained for questioning. Authorities had initially received reports of a cyclist riding against traffic without lights on the Biddingringweg shortly before the collision was reported. Emergency services arrived to find the cyclist critically injured and were unable to save his life despite resuscitation efforts. The vehicle involved has been impounded for forensic examination as the investigation continues.
