The Tanzania Diabetes Association (TDA) has expressed alarm over the increasing number of individuals living with diabetes across Tanzania. According to TDA Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Filbert Nyoni, the prevalence of the disease is higher now than in previous years. Despite this concerning trend, public awareness regarding diabetes prevention remains worryingly low throughout Tanzania. Nyoni shared these observations during the 13th Health Conference in Dar es Salaam. The TDA’s concerns highlight a growing public health challenge within the nation. Further efforts are needed to educate the population about diabetes and promote preventative measures to curb the rising rates of the disease in Tanzania.
