A Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), Mo. Shফিকুল Islam, and his associate, Wasim, were arrested in Dhaka on Sunday night. Southkhan Police apprehended them with 5,310 yaba tablets during a raid in the Uttara Azampur Kachabazar and Bismillah Polli areas. The arrests highlight potential corruption within the DMP's Pallabi Police Station, as the ASI was allegedly involved in drug trafficking. A case has been filed against both individuals under the Narcotics Control Act. They have been sent to jail pending court proceedings.
