The death toll from a Thursday explosion at a coal mine in southwest Pakistan has risen to at least 32. The incident occurred in a mine located on the outskirts of QuettaLSn. Mining inspector Ghani Baloch reported on Friday that ten miners remain trapped underground. Rescue efforts are ongoing, though officials admit that hope for finding survivors is diminishing. Earlier reports had indicated eleven deaths and 31 miners trapped. Search teams continue to work despite the challenging conditions. Authorities are coordinating efforts to reach those still missing. This tragedy marks a significant increase in casualties since the initial blast.
