Dutch prosecutors allege they can prove 18 deaths are linked to substances sold through the website Funcaps. The company, owned by two Dutch men, sold substances including bromazolam, O-DSMT, and 2F-ketamine without accompanying information or warnings. Sales were promoted through discounts and sample packages. The owners previously received an 18-month suspended sentence in Belgium, with additional fines and asset forfeiture, for illegal drug trading, after a court found they knowingly ignored risks to customers. Prosecutors had sought a five-year sentence in Belgium, citing a death linked to the website’s products. Four additional deaths are currently under investigation in the Netherlands. The Belgian case is now under review by the Court of Cassation, examining potential legal errors.
