The Cà Mau province has approved the establishment of 13 new wards, including Cái Đôi Vàm, a key coastal economic zone. This decision reflects the region’s significant growth in marine economy, currently processing tens of thousands of tons of seafood annually. The move signifies a shift away from rural administration models as Cái Đôi Vàm evolves into a more urbanized area. Non-agricultural employment already accounts for 78.8% of the local workforce. The creation of these wards is intended to streamline administration and support further economic development focused on the maritime sector. This restructuring aims to capitalize on the area’s strategic importance for the province’s blue economy. The change is expected to facilitate investment and improve infrastructure in the region.
