A recent survey by ČSOB and Mastercard’s Index inovací reveals a surge in the use of AI tools in the Czech Republic, now reaching 76 percent of the population. Despite this increased adoption, a significant 39 percent of Czech citizens express concerns about the development of artificial intelligence. This decline in trust is particularly pronounced among younger demographics, who are increasingly worried about issues such as deepfake content. The study indicates a growing apprehension alongside rising usage. This suggests a complex relationship with the technology, where familiarity does not necessarily translate to confidence. The findings highlight a need for greater discussion and understanding of the implications of AI in the Czech Republic. Further research may be needed to understand the root causes of the distrust.
